Color printer ink cartridges

Today a lot color printers have separate color ink cartridges. This is to your advantage because you only have to replace the ink cartridge that has run dry. Some printers have all the colors in a single cartridge. If one color has run dry you have to replace the whole cartridge. Luckily most of the printer companies are designing their new printers to use separate color ink cartridges. High-end printers use up to 8 different colors to create photographic outputs.

Using a color re-fill kit is not recommended

In general you should avoid using color refill kits. Creating quality color ink is difficult and cheap color ink seldom has the right thickness. If you choose to buy a color ink refill kit anyway make sure that you get a kit that is specifically designed for your printer. You should also notice that some ink cartridges comes with a built-in chip. Before you can use the refilled cartridge you have to reset it - otherwise the printer will say that the cartridge is empty, even though this is not the case.

Which type of color ink cartridges should I use?

Especially when it comes to color ink cartridges you should stay clear of the cheapest ones. To get at good result the ink must be mixed just the right way. If this is not the case then the blue nuances for example, could become too green. When it comes to color ink cartridges it is therefore best to choose a remanufactured cartridge or a compatible cartridge of a good quality. Buy original ink cartridges if you want the absolutely best results.
